✅ What IDs Are Accepted (Must Be Current or Issued Within the Last 5 Years):

  • California Driver’s License or State ID
  • U.S. Passport
  • Inmate ID (must be issued by the CA Dept. of Corrections or a county sheriff while in custody)

✅ These IDs Are Also Accepted — But Must Include ALL of the Following:
photophysical descriptionsignature, and a serial or ID number:

  • Foreign Passport
  • Consular ID
  • Out-of-state Driver’s License (U.S., Mexico, or Canada)
  • State-issued ID from another U.S. state
  • U.S. Military ID

  • Government Employee ID (CA city, county, or state)

👥 Step 3: Bring Witnesses (If Needed)

Some documents—like wills, deeds, or power of attorney forms—may require one or more witnesses. If your document needs witnesses, please make sure they meet these simple requirements:

✅ Witnesses Must Be:

  • 18 years or older
  • Mentally competent
  • Not financially or legally involved in the document
  • Personally known to you or able to provide valid photo ID

📌 Important:
Notaries cannot act as witnesses. You are responsible for bringing your own, unless we’ve arranged otherwise in advance.

Not sure if you need a witness? Contact us before your appointment, and we’ll help clarify based on your document type.
